Word of the Week: socialmention

By Word of the Week on March 26th, 2010

socialmention – We talked last week about Twazzup, a unique way to get more out of your Twitter search, but if you need to get insight from the rest of the social media world, then socialmention is the place for you. Start with your search term, then choose which area of the social Web you want to search. From blogs, microblogs and news to images, video and social networks, socialmention will tell you where your keyword is building traction. In addition to the basic search results, several other pieces of insight are offered on the search page. The source or each result is identified (Google or Yahoo for blog or news searches, Twitter for microblog searches, etc.), and some analytics about your keyword are also offered. These analytics include strength, passion, reach and sentiment, as well as top keywords associated with your search. As we’ve seen the last two weeks, the social media world is becoming more and more measurable every day.
